AVEVA Pipe Stress Interface 12.0
Integrates pipe stress analysis with AVEVA PDMS design
Analysing piping designs to check stresses and to design the supports is a specialist job. Developed in response to feedback from customers, AVEVA Pipe Stress Interface provides an interactive and intuitive method of specifying a stress network and delivers major savings by automating the two-way flow of information between PDMS designers and stress analysts.
Business Benefits
- Better piping workflow, with reduced man-hours and schedule time
- Time savings in excess of 50% are achievable
- Quick and easy to adopt. Savings can be made immediately
Key Features
- Two-way interactive interface between AVEVA PDMS and Coade's CAESAR II, [v4.50 or 5]
- Visualisation of pipeline deflections.
- Suggested routes can be clash-checked quickly
within the 3D model, reducing design iterations.
- Supports are transferred between AVEVA PDMS
and the pipe stress system.
- Customisation facilities allow the re-use
of existing catalogue data.
- User configurable to suit a company's working methods
AVEVA Pipe Stress Interface's architecture is designed to allow future interfaces between AVEVA PDMS and other pipe stress systems.

How it works
- AVEVA Pipe Stress Interface can be used at all stages from initial layout to final detailed design.
- The pipe stress system is selected from pipe branches in AVEVA PDMS.
- Pipe properties such as weights and wall thicknesses may be obtained from within the PDMS project or from an external source.
- Data is transferred to CAESAR II via an intermediate file. The user can modify the order in which the stress system will be processed.
- Results such as suggested re-routes, support loads and displacements, may be transferred back to PDMS for further use.
- Design work, such as clash checking, pipe routing and support design, is completed in AVEVA PDMS.
