AVEVA Diagrams 12.0

For easily created piping and HVAC diagrams fully integrated with the model database

AVEVA Diagrams gives you efficient tools for creating P&IDs and HVAC diagrams in a model database, from where they are easily accessible, in a controlled manner, by all the other designers in a project.

Business Benefits

  • Reduced man-hours
Efficient dedicated functions maximise design productivity.
  • Downstream design savings
The diagrams may be used in the creation of the 3D model, reducing detail design man-hours and later design modifications.
  • Reduced rework
Design consistency between diagram data and the 3D model minimises errors and avoids rework in design or production.

Key Features

An editable symbol library for maximum productivity

AVEVA Diagrams contains an extensive range of powerful functions to maximise design productivity, allow efficient task management and produce high-quality deliverables:

Productivity functions:

  • A specialist design tool
AVEVA Diagrams is purpose-designed for the Piping and HVAC disciplines.

Diagram overlay on a General Arrangement

  • Stencils
A library of intelligent Stencils represent the most common diagram symbols and an import wizard lets you create your own. On selection, Stencil shapes can prompt the user for values.
  • Design groups
'Fitting assemblies' let you define a group of fittings and add them with a single drag-and-drop operation.
  • Flexible design processes
AVEVA Diagrams supports both manual and automatic selection of catalogue items and dimensioning of parts. You can start drawing a diagram before the specification is available, and apply the specification later.
Powerful functions let you resize or respecify the catalogue items associated with a line or its fittings.
Automatic exchange of symbols allows a 'generic' symbol to be replaced by a specific one when the catalogue reference is set or changed. Existing symbols can be manually exchanged, retaining connections and attributes.
  • Data transfer
Database import/export of line lists and equipment lists using a spreadsheet file.
  • Configurability
An extensive set of options and settings gives a high degree of configuration freedom.

Powerful drawing functions:

  • Integrated, feature-rich Microsoft Office Visio drafting canvas.
  • Diagrams can be made against backdrop drawings, such as the general arrangement.
  • Multi-sheet diagrams using off-page connectors.
  • Flexible, rule-driven, automatic annotation and attribute presentation.
  • Import/export of common drawing formats.

Task management functions:

  • Full integration
AVEVA Diagrams has access to all the database and functional capabilities of the AVEVA PDMS 3D modelling applications.
  • A complete solution
The database can store P&ID schematic data for an entire project, allowing a complete schematic model to be developed.
  • Design consistency
The schematic model can be used via AVEVA Schematic 3D Integrator to build the 3D model and check its consistency with the P&ID data at any stage in design development.
  • Automatic organisation
As the diagram is being drafted, items are automatically created in the model database and organised according to a System hierarchy as well as a user-defined folder structure. Instruments created in the diagram also become part of the database.
  • Global working
Full support for AVEVA Global allows schematic data as well as documents to be globally distributed in multi-location projects.
  • Information management
Unique ”Schematic Model Viewer” provides automatically generated, multi-system, navigable presentation of database data.
An editable, spreadsheet-style item list provides a tabular view of items on the diagram.
A mechanism is provided for releasing data for 3D modelling.

  • Quality control
A configurable consistency check function provides both a drawing-to-database check and an engineering check.
